Can We Bring Our Dog? - Sorry no pets are allowed
Do you have laundry facilities? - Yes, a coin operated washer and dryer are located in the basement of the lakeside building.
Do you have Barbeques?- Absolutely, on the senic lakefront
Are your pools heated?- Our in ground pool is, but our Lake fed is completely natural.
When are boats available?- Weather & water temperature permitting, May 15th until around mid October when the water is again to cold. Available are rowboats, paddleboats and canoes.
How far are we from Main Street shops and Resturants? - Aproximately a 1/2 mile. 10 min walk, 2 minute drive, 5 minutes on bike.

Wondering what to do while in Lake Placid?- Check out www.LakePlacid.com. for a year round activity list. For skiing, hiking,day camps and events to see, it is the most comprehensive you'll find on Lake Placid and is run by the Essex County Visitors Bureau.
I want to ride a Bobsled?- Go to www.orda.org for times and schedules, its a ride of a lifetime.
Perhaps skating or a visit to the ski jumps are more your style? Lake Placid is the Winter Olympic Sports Capital Of The World and its all on their website.

TRAIN
Amtrak Amtrak operates between New York City and Montreal - local stop in Westport, N.Y. (40 miles from Lake Placid). For information call 1-800-888-8478. Shuttle bus service to Lake Placid must be arranged with a reservation: 518-523-4431. Other stops along Lake Champlain include Ticonderoga, Port Henry,and Port Kent.
PLANE
Lake Placid Airport The Lake Placid Municipal Airport is about one mile south of the village on Route 73. Hours of operation: 9 am- 5 pm daily. 8 am - 8 pm in July & August. Runway: 4,200 feet. Services: Air Charter flights from most airports, scenic flights, tie down, and repairs. 518-523-2473. Adirondack Airport In Saranac Lake, 16 miles from Lake Placid on Route 86.

Major Airports
The Lake Placid area is within 2 1/2 hours driving time of three major airports: Albany, New York; Burlington, Vermont; and Montreal, Quebec. All are serviced by major airline carriers and have car rentals available.

AUTOMOBILE
From New York City and New Jersey
Take the NY State Thruway (I-87) north to the Adirondack Northway (Exit 24 in Albany). Follow 87 to Exit 30. Pick up Route 9 north and follow it for two miles to Route 73. Continue on 73 for 28 miles. Left at 1st traffic light in Lake Placid on rout 86 for 1.5 miles. Wildwood on the lake will be on your right. From NYC: 5 hrs, Albany: 2 1/2 hrs.
From Toronto
Take 401 east to Cornwall Bridge. Pick up Route 37 east to Malone. Follow Route 30 south to Paul Smiths and pick up Route 86. Continue on 86 thru Saranac Lake to Lake Placid, Wildwood on the lake will be on your left. Drive time: 5 1/2 hours.
From Montreal
Take Route 15 south to Champlain Crossing, connecting with I-87 south. Take Exit 34 west, following Route 9N, then Route 86 to Wilmington and on to Lake Placid. 1.5 miles from entering Lake Placid Wildwood will be on your right.
From Boston, Springfield, Hartford
Take Massachusetts Turnpike (I-90) to Albany. Pick up I-787 north to Cohoes. Connect with Route 7 west to I-87 north. Follow I-87 (Northway) to Exit 30, then use final directions above: "From New York City..." Drive time from Boston: 5 hours. From Ottawa Take routes south to the Cornwall Bridge. Pick up Route 37 east to Malone. Follow Route 30 south to Paul Smiths and pick up Route 86. Follow Route 86 and continue thru Saranac Lake to Lake Placid, Wildwood on the lake will be on your left. Drive time: 3 hours.
From Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse,
Points West
Take I-90 (NY State Thruway) east to Exit 36 (Syracuse). Pick up I-81 north and follow to Watertown. Take Route 3 and follow it east to Saranac Lake, then follow Route 86 to Lake Placid, Wildwood on the lake will be on your left. Drive times: From Buffalo: 5 1/2 hours; Rochester: 4 1/2 hours; Syracuse: 3 1/2 hours.
